Sawbu Ward
Sawbu was born on December 19, 1992, the oldest
in a litter of nine to Seltzer, a ten year old Shepherd-mix.
His name was Vietnamese for "six toes", because
he had an extra digit on his hind legs. At
age nine, his hip dysphasia became so severe that
both hips were replaced. The surgery and long
convalescence was hard on him, but he recovered
and was able to run and play. Sawbu loved
to work for his keep, and was especially proud of
his ability to fetch the paper and mail, and guard
the house and car. He loved going bye-bye
and on walks, and most of all he loved to play hide-and-seek
with his favorite toy, Porky. In love with
life, Sawbu was devoted to Joe, a disabled veteran.
Although life dealt him some bad hands, he was a
happy dog, and he always had hugs and licks for
all. When the pain of arthritis in his ribs
and kidney failure brought him to the end, he was
at home with the family he so dearly adored.

received by the staff of Tender Loving Care Animal Hospital,

the appropriate, high-quality veterinary care they need
