Dr. Tricia M. Hartwig, DVM, CVA Living A Dream:
Since she can remember, Dr. Hartwig wanted to be a veterinarian. Growing up in Iowa, she was always surrounded by family pets. After graduating from Iowa State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in May 1994, she worked at Jordan Creek Animal Hospital in West Des Moines for 5 years, then moved to Indiana where she worked in an emergency clinic for 2 years. Caring for animals as well as taking care of clients is what she likes, so, when a client-friend from Iowa moved to Longmont and told her they needed a good veterinarian, she decided to move here in July 2000. Dr. Hartwig has a daughter, 1 dogs, 2 cats, and a horse. She loves to ride her horse and do outdoor activities with her daughter and their dogs. Her philosophy of life and work are based around the same premise, “You get out of situations what you put into them.”
Mariah Shipkey spent most of her life in Houston, Texas where she attended Klein High School and Texas ATM Corpus Christi. But in February 2016, she returned back to her roots in Longmont, Colorado where she loves to hike with her dog Aidan and play disc golf. Since she was a little girl, Mariah has always been passionate about two things: traveling and animals. In November 2016, she started working with Dr. Hartwig where she is experiencing her first taste in the veterinary field. With her experience at Tender Loving Care, she plans to pursue her path in becoming a certified veterinary technician.
